TOP OF THE CHARTS THURSDAY

Alicia reigns supreme and continues in the top 5 since she released her cd in November 07. This week Alicia came in at #2 behind the Juno Rhino Soundtrack selling 59,011 copies and already certified 3 x Platnum (3 million records sold). Rounding up the top 5 is my girl 3. NATASHA BEDINGFIELD EPIC selling 50,051 copies this week; 4. MARY J. BLIGE GEFFEN w/ 45,279 copies sold; and 5. RADIOHEAD TBD/ATO/RED selling 35,020. Other notables in the top 10 include Chris Brown, Hannah Montanah and Keisha Cole. Keisha and Chris are both certified platnum. There were no major debuts this week. Akon certified at 3 million. Hannah Montana certified at 2 million.

On the singles chart Flo rida is still #1. Chris Brown has Kiss Kiss and With You in the top 10 and Rihanna's Don't Stop the Music is climbing up the top 10 and is at #5 this week. This single is sure to get her more sales on her album and hopefully sell the million she shipped.

What do you think about this policy, initiated by former Senator Gingrish to pay kids for showing up to school. I know some of my friends got paid for good grades but my mom refused to do this and I was pissed. With the state of our education system I don't know if I can argue with this tactic.

ENTERTAINMENT LAW: Luda, Dick Wolf, NBC

NBC has sued Law & Order creator Dick Wolf, seeking no monetary damages but instead asking the Los Angeles Superior Court for an interpretation of a contract provision that both sides have been disputing since September.According to Variety, NBC contends that an agreement inked in 2004 provides Wolf with one additional year of executive-producer fees after any L&O incarnation is granted its final one-season order. Or, if the last order from NBC is for two seasons, Wolf gets no extra coin. Wolf, though, believes he is entitled to a full two-year severance package once a L&O is not renewed. Says a Wolf rep, "NBC Universal is trying to rewrite an existing contract. SOURCE

Luda is being sued for Copyright Infringement by three producers from Chester, Pennsylvania. The producers claim that Luda stole their track and used it on his "The Red Light District" album. The lawsuit was filed in Philadephia and alleges that Boogiii Men Entertainment Group sent in a CD to Luda's label Disturbing da Peace back in 2004. The suit claims Luda's track "Get Back" had similarities to the track they had submitted to Ludacris. Boogiii Men Entertainment is being represented by James Wells of Haines & Associates.

Not to be outdone by Akeys playing Billie Holliday, and in her quest to get an oscar nod like Diana Ross, that girl is said to be taking on the role of Etta James in a movie called "Cadilac Records" with Cedric The Entertainer.

The story is about Leonard Chess, the legendary founder of the South Side Chicago blues label Chess Records. The period piece follows the rise and fall of Chess Records, which launched the careers of such R&B greats as Muddy Waters, Etta James and Chuck Berry. Cedric the Entertainer will play Willie Dixon, who wrote most of the hits records and was part of the famous company. One of his most famous songs was "Hoochie Coochie Man". ............................................

Forget that she sounds nothing like Etta, or that she can't act or speak....the girl playing/acting as anybody is never a good idea. Plus, Christina Aguillera just cried 1000x over that this is being done to her idol Etta.
