Reflecting the mood of the nation with President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua, the architect of amnesty in the Niger Delta, recuperating in a Saudi Arabia hospital, the THISDAY Music Festival of Peace has been scaled down.
Ciara, the American artiste, arrived yesterday to join 50 Cents, T Pain and Nigeria's international artistes for the festival. It will kick off today in Benin at 2pm and end at 8pm, while the Abuja concert will hold from 8pm till midnight. Tomorrow, the festival will hold simultaneously from 11pm to 5pm in Warri, Delta State, and Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The grand finale will hold all day on Sunday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, and Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Entrance is free but VIPs are strictly by invitation.

This is not Ciara's first time in Nigeria. She was a supporting act for a similar festival 2 years ago with Jay Z and Beyonce headlining.

In other Ciara news, the family and pastor of a 13 year old cancer victim recently posted a video of their daughter lipping her favorite singer. Laurren Smith battled Osteosarcoma cancer (a form of bone cancer) for over two years passed away on December 4th, 2009.
I'm sure Ciara fans will make sure Ciara sees this.
