UPCOMING ALBUM NEWS

Jive confirms it will release Ciara's third album called "Fantasy Ride," in September 2008. An official single will drop in June. Rather than one standard CD, the music will be spread across three separately packaged discs, bundled together, each with five to six songs catering to a different theme.

Themes will include "Groove City," which will be led by Tricky Stewart (who will also serve as co-executive producer along with Ciara) and Ciara's writing partner Jasper; "Crunktown" and "Kingdom of Dance" led by producer Danja.

Tendsetter Ci.

Beyawncey is also in the studio and targeting a 4th quarter third album release. She has worked with Trickey Stewart, Darkchild and Neyo. Recently, Krucial Keys (writing/producing and personal partner of Alicia Keys) confirmed that he will be working with Beyawncey on this new project as well.

It is said that the theme for this album will be techno/international/dance/pop.

Def Jam confirms that Rihanna is slated to rerelease her almost platnum Good Girl Gone Bad cd with new cuts like "Take a Bow" and her recent collabo with Maroon 5. Rihanna is currently on Kanye West's Glow in the Dark tour and will be a guest at this years Hot 97 summer jam and N.O Essence festival.

FLASHING LIGHTS FOR LIBERIA

Restored streetlighting in Monrovia's Paynesville, or Red Light, neighborhood has dramatically reduced crime in every major category, official statistics show.

Former American slaves founded Liberia in 1822, and the United States long has played an outsize role in Liberia's national dramas, much as the British and French have in their former African colonies. Monrovia is named for U.S. President James Monroe. Aid from the United States helped the power company restore the first pieces of the public system in 2006. Ghana and the European Union also contributed.

FINALLY ARETHA STEPS AWAY FROM THE BUFFET

Riri's been on a diet and she says she's looking and feeling good. Though she didn't say what that goal was, it was clear she was happy to cut out heavier foods, fat content and salt. "I feel lighter. I'm not as heavy, what you get with the red meat," she told The Associated Press. "You dragging yourself along when you have all that red meat. Much lighter. I feel a lot lighter, and a lot better." Franklin said she's "a very good cook" but noted she's been mixing up her meals with those from weight-loss program Jenny Craig. Still, Franklin said that for one meal a week, she eats whatever she wants, diverging from low-fat, low-sodium meals of turkey, chicken, fish, lobster and crab.
