SUSAN BOYLE STAY SNATCHING WIGS....HANDS AKEYS HER FIRST #2 ALBUM IN CAREER
The numbers for this weeks chart are in from HitsDoubleDaily, which see Alicia Keys exceeding sales expectations with her fourth album The Element of Freedom selling 405k to land at #2 on the Billboard 200.
However the high numbers weren’t good enough to beat Billboard’s baddest bitch Susan Boyle who sold another 659k of her debut I Dreamed a Dream, bringing her US total album sales to 2.4 million in only four weeks.
The Element of Freedom’s failure to miss the #1 position on the charts makes it’s Alicia’s first album to do so, with her MTV Unplugged album even managing to accomplish the feat back in 2005. Alicia is now even with Britney Spears for the most consecutive #1 albums since debut, both with four each.

ALICIA AND SWIZZY LEAVING THE SHOW STORE IN NY
Faded Youth posted these pics of the couple. Damn Damn Damn okay she's holding on to the bodygaurd but Damn Damn Damn....Mashonda will not like this.
In sales news, looks like Susan Boyle will snatch another wig this year for the 4th week in the wow. Although Alicia is looking to pull an acceptable 300-350k in the first week, it's far from the 750k of her last album's first week #s. Not to mention Susan Boyle is doing another 500k to beat Alicia out for #1.

RIHANNA THE RIBO IS STRUGGLING TO MAKE TOP 5 ON ALBUMS CHART
The plan now is to release a video for "Hard" f/ Jeezy but instead of using the director she's used for her last few videos, Def Jam has enlisted Melina who is best known for her work with Beyonce (Diva, Get Me Bodied etc) and Ciara (Go Girl Work etc).

SUSAN BOYLE SNATCHES TO WIGS OFF LADY GAGA, RIHANNA, SHAKIRA AND BEYONCE FOR THE #1 ALBUM SPOT ON BILLBOARD
Despite album releases from pop heavyweights including Rihanna’s Rated R, Beyonce I Am… Yours, Lady GaGa The Fame Monster, Shakira’s She Wolf, and Adam Lambert For Your Entertainment, Susan Boyle proves that sometimes talent can outweigh image in the music industry.
Boyle's album, I Dreamed a Dream, which hit the streets today, is already selling two to three times the estimated pre-release total for retailers, on top of breaking the all-time pre-order record at Amazon.com. Based on current tallies, the disc will easily top 500k and could go even higher. The others...not so much.

THE NEW GANG/ IN OTHER NEWS
CiaraKimKardashianLalaVasquez
The ever climbing socialite just debuted her new crew including Ciara and Lala last night as they went out to celebrate the release of Ciara's new CD and the fact that she is in LA finally
But we all know Kim's just trying to upgrade to Justin Timberfake
CiaraKimKardashianLalaVasquez
Lala has been in blog news for getting into at her fiance's basketball game this week. She had to be escorted out. Not a good look for a judge on VH1's Charm School. However Lala says this:
let me explain to my fam..i owe yall that even though my publicist released a statement. TWITTERVILLE! blowing yall a kiss 4 all the love. man the media will blow something up, wont they?!?! let me ...
u cant harass a person, callthem&their fam n*gg*rs,call kiyan a b*st*rd,push me in the back of thehead cuz ur drunk and not expect a reaction
CiaraKimKardashianLalaVasquez
Ciara latest album is coming in at #3 on the Hot 200 and #2 on the urban charts losing out the unstoppable Hannah Mantana and a "def jam" artist who was selling her album for $3 on the internet (and probably had her label spend her advance buying albums...but that's just the hater in me) and sold less than 2,000 copies more than Ci. This def jam artist Chrisette Michelle, scores her first #1 but the lowest #1 sales inthe history of billboard. This is Ciara's lowest debut in sales but her 3rd top 3 debut on billboard with her first album debuting at 3 and her 2nd album debuting at 1.
The n**** blog are very happy for this one but don't realize Ciara's 2 singles are already platnum, her album debuted in Belgium, France, Ireland and the UK in the top 10 and her latest song is #7 on the world charts. But just like in the case of Rhianna, they'll be scratching their head wondering why she gets to perform and do all the things in stored with a "flop" album.
Having said all that, Ciara def should have been able to pull over 100k. This is a very dissapointing debut for her. But this is what happens when you switch you style up and take risks. If it's real she will push through it.

THE NUMBERS DONT' LIE
In its fourth week on the Billboard 200, the "Hannah Montana: The Movie" soundtrack (Walt Disney) reaches No. 1 for the first time, vaulting to the top of the chart with 133,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan. That's a decline of 32% compared to last week's haul of 196,000 -- but that sum was powered by the film's April 10 opening in theaters combined with sales driven by the Easter holiday shopping. Overall album sales are down 19% this week as the market adjusts after the busy Easter week.
The "Hannah Montana" film bowed atop the U.S. and Canada box office over the April 10-12 weekend with $32.3 million and slipped to No. 4 over the most recent weekend with $12.7 million.
This past week the "Hannah" album was able to fend off the second chart week of Rascal Flatts' "Unstoppable" (No. 3 with 107,000; down 69%) and the debut of Day26's Bad Boy set "Forever In a Day" (No. 2 with 113,000). The former Lyric Street album arrived at No. 1 last week with 351,000.
"Hannah Montana: the Movie" is the first soundtrack to top the Billboard 200 chart this year. Last year, three did the trick: "Juno," "Mamma Mia!" and "Twilight." "Hannah Montana: the Movie" is also the third soundtrack from the "Hannah" franchise to reach the top of the chart, after the first and second volumes of the TV show's soundtracks hit No. 1 in 2006 and 2007, respectively.

BILLBOARD SAYS
Taylor Swift has had the #1 album for 8 weeks in a row. This is the longest run at #1since 50 cent had his run with Get Rich and The Massacre, respectively.
Mariah's "Best Of" cd was the highest debut on the album charts coming in at #10.
On the hot 100, American Idol's Kelly Clarkson makes history on this week's Billboard Hot 100 with the largest leap to No. 1 in the chart's 50-year history. Her new single, "My Life Would Suck Without You," rockets 97-1 after selling 280,000 digital downloads in its first week of availability. This breaks Britney's record which jumped from 96-1 in one week.
This pushes Lady Gaga to #2
On Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, "Single Ladies" is in an 11th week at No. 1.
Ciara's "Never Ever" featuring Young Jeezy is the highest debut on this chart debuting at No. 70

BOW DOWN BISHES
This is what pure grinding is all about. Lady Gaga currently has the #1 song in the US with "Just Dance." This song came out in the summer of 2007. Unlike these manufactured machines who buy radio stations and buy their own downloads to gain top 10 hits in 2 weeks, Gaga did it the real way. The people actually came to the single. It was a movement....the way it's done

AKEYS CLAIMS BILLBOARD'S #1
First they honor Ciara as Woman of the year
Then they honor Chris Brown as Artist of the year
Now Billboard names Alicia Keys as having the Album of the year?
So how did Keys come out on top? The Billboard chart year strongly favored Keys. The chart year began the very week that As I Am hit the chart, with impressive first-week sales of 742,000 copies. That "start date" cut off the first five weeks of Noel's sales, a period in which it sold 379,000 copies. Groban was also hurt on the back end. In the four most recent weeks (including this week), which are not counted in the year-end tally, a seasonally-reinvigorated Noel has sold 509,000 copies, compared to just 21,000 copies for an out-of-gas As I Am. Noel's uncounted sales on either the front end or the back end are more than enough to offset As I Am's 144,000-copy lead during Billboard's official chart year. (If the chart year had started and ended one week later than it did, Groban would have beat Keys handily. His total would have been 3,341,000 copies, to her 2,892,000 copies.)
Billboard didn't deliberately favor Keys: The 2008 chart year adheres to the magazine's usual practice. Why, you may wonder, doesn't Billboard's year-end issue just conform to the calendar year? It's a matter of production logistics. The year-end issue is typically the magazine's biggest issue of the year (this year's edition runs 178 pages). The staff needs the extra time to assemble the issue and, not least of all, sell ads.
The magazine's 2008 chart year runs from Dec. 1, 2007 through Nov. 29, 2008. And in that period, As I Am sold more copies than Noel, which finished at #2 (not to mention Tha Carter III, which ranked #3 on Billboard's recap.

HI HATERS...IT'S BRITNEY BIATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Coming in with the 2nd highest debut by a female this year, Brit is set to sell over 500,000 records in it's first week. And how about that for some humbling pie Kangay? And did you know that she's sold 400,000 tickets in North America alone, and it doesn't start until next March.
And in this week of Britney domination, there's no need to know where everyone else landed. Just know that it was below her.

MEN LIE WOMEN LIE #S DON'T
So at first Matthew said his daughter will do close to a million in the first week. Then he said between 500-600k. The numbers are in and according to Billboard:
Beyonce scores her third straight No. 1 debut on The Billboard 200 this week as the double-disc "I Am ... Sasha Fierce" (Music World/Columbia) shifts a whopping 482,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Her last album "B-Day" moved 541,000.
____________________________________________________________________________________
We all know this girl is working dang hard to hold on and become the legend she's worked for. But I'm not seeing Bey doing any better than she's done in the past. Her peak has come and gone.
Having said that I do believe a lot of the 'it' girls today will be long gone and she will somehow still be around long after they are gone.

TI MAKES SINGLES HISTORY
His first crossover #1 makes a historical jump this week on the Hot 100. Seems like anyone can make a #1 hit these days. Not to take anything away from him but....I'm more impressed when people sell albums because nowadays labels are buying hits. Here's the article
T.I. establishes the mark for biggest jump to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, as "Whatever You Like" soars 71-1 in its third week on the list.
A No. 1 opening on Hot Digital Songs with debut-week sales of 205,000 downloads is the cause for the record-setting Hot 100 move, which surpasses the 64-1 jump taken by Maroon 5's "Makes Me Wonder" in May 2007.
"Like" is the rapper's first No. 1 as a lead artist (he was featured on Justin Timberlake's 2006 chart-topper, "My Love") and his opening-week digital sum is the best by a rap track since Nielsen SoundScan began compiling download data in 2003

PIC OF THE DAY: Billboard Banks on Ciara
Ciara graces the August 2008 cover of Billboard Magazine. Interesting that she would get a cover without an album out when they got Neyo, Nelly, TI and others with albums before her. They even let Usher share a cover with producer Danja, yet they gave Ciara her own cover. Maybe they are predicting something. Either way good look Ci...You betta bring it.
In the issue Ciara talks about her modeling contract with Wilhelmina, her new movie Mama I Want To Sing, and her new album, Fantasy Ride (LaFace/Jive), which is scheduled to drop November 2008.
