CIARA CONTINUES TO PISS THE HATERS OFF

Producers decide they will release "Mama I Want To Sing" staring Ciara in theaters instead of straight to DVD. Infact according to movie producer Marvett Britto, who I spoke to last week, the movie was never slated to go straight to DVD even though Ciara said so in interviews. We hear because the deal was brokered by her former manager Ciara just wants to put the whole experience behind her...not to mention she was pissed off when the girl who played a younger Ci was fired for a lighter skinned girl (but that's for another time). Anywhoo Ci shot her scenes in 2007 and new scenes were shot with a new young Ci (character Amara) not too long ago. Here's a clip of the trailer that someone recorded in the theaters. I'm hearing they are looking for an October 2009 limited theater release.

In other news, while Ciara is at home in ATL recouping for her UK tour with Britney, word is she is gearing back for more tour performances. Starting in July she will head out with Jay Z doing 2 dates in 5 cities throughout the month, then in August she will do another run with Britney in the US for a month. Apparently she and Brit Brit hit it off nicely. She is also in the works of doing her own international tour by year's end.

THE DEBAUCHERY CONTINUES...

Robert Downey Jr. in his negro drag for the movie Tropic Thunder. That's Hollywood for ya. The place where every black woman is played by the girl from destiny's child or Halle berry, and black men played by white men in "black face."

Introducing Jamal Woolard aka Gravy as The Notorious B.I.G.
, Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur

Angela Bassett as Christopher’s mother Voletta Wallace.

Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur

No word on who will play Kim (we say kerrine stephans or raven simone if you're looking for lookalikes but kerrine could do the action scene) and Faith can be played by that light skin lady in Tyler Perry stage shows. **shrugs**

The film will be produced by Voletta Wallace, Wayne Barrow, Mark Pitts, Bob Teitel, Trish Hofmann and executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs based on a screenplay by Cheo Hodari Coker and Reggie Rock Bythewood.

I'm ready to see this. Let's Go.

THE GIRL FROM DESTINY'S CHILD TO PLAY ETTA JAMES

Etta James
THE BLASPHEMY
Not to be outdone by Akeys playing Billie Holliday, and in her quest to get an oscar nod like Diana Ross, that girl is said to be taking on the role of Etta James in a movie called "Cadilac Records" with Cedric The Entertainer.

The story is about Leonard Chess, the legendary founder of the South Side Chicago blues label Chess Records. The period piece follows the rise and fall of Chess Records, which launched the careers of such R&B greats as Muddy Waters, Etta James and Chuck Berry. Cedric the Entertainer will play Willie Dixon, who wrote most of the hits records and was part of the famous company. One of his most famous songs was "Hoochie Coochie Man". ............................................
Forget that she sounds nothing like Etta, or that she can't act or speak....the girl playing/acting as anybody is never a good idea. Plus, Christina Aguillera just cried 1000x over that this is being done to her idol Etta.
