MEN LIE WOMEN LIE NUMBERS DON'T

Highlights on this week's Billboard album chart ...

Coldplay tops the charts with about 729k albums sold. I happen to think they killed rock music but I guess they do it for some folk. Lil wayne droped by 71% landing at #2 from 1 milli to 285k sold. Rihanna's promo fest landed her at # 6 selling 63k copies. I must say from leno to the view to the morning show to good morning america to a showmance with teeth brown and you can barely bring in 65k RiRi? I guess that means getting you pictures taken at all the needed places doesn't translate to record sales. So much for being the next Britney Spears.

Here is the list of top 10 selling albums:

CIARA ENDS ROCAWEAR CONTRACT.... SIGNS MODELING GIG WITH WILHELMINA

Ciara recently signed a deal with the modeling agency Wilhelmina. The deal will let Wilhelmina focus on casting Ciara, who is currently ending her modeling run for Jay-Z's Rocawear clothing line, in the clothing and fragrance businesses. "Modeling has always been one of my aspirations," says Ciara. "But I was insecure about my height. I thought I was 5'7" but I just found out that I'm 5'8" so I'm really excited about that."

Ciara isn't stopping with a new modeling deal, she also has her eyes on starting a new clothing line. The R&B singer is currently talking to the department store Steve & Barry's, to create a reasonably priced clothing line that would combine her style with affordable prices. The department store is already home to a clothing line for Sarah Jessica Parker's "Bitten" line plus New York Knicks' star Stephon Marbury's "Starbury" collection. "I have a couple of cool things that I'm working on," says Ciara. "The coolest thing about Steve & Barry's is they cater to everyday people. I won't say that my line will be like theirs, I want to stay true to who I am, but most importantly it has to be affordable."

Ciara is currently preparing her third album called "Fantasy Ride," which should hit stores sometime in September on Jive Records. Her last album, 2006's "Evolution," has already sold 1.5 million copies in the US to-date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

PERFORMANCE OF THE DAY

I can't get enough. I needed a cig after this

QUOTE OF THE DAY: It's Fifty

[50 SPEAKS TO ALLHIPHOP ON TACO BELL'S LATEST ATTEMPT TO USE HIM FOR PUBLICITY]
"When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: 'We messed with the bull and got the horns,'" 50 Cent told AllHipHop.com in a statement.

This is a sleazy and ill-conceived publicity stunt by Taco Bell's president, Greg Creed, whose disingenuous offer was leaked to the press before it was even presented to 50 Cent's agent yesterday.

  • PERFORMANCE FROM GREAT TO GOOD

    1. AL GREEN: showed those youngins how it's done.

    2. Akeys gets the crown for the throwback moment of the night. My top 3 fav groups of all time with En Vogue being #1. And Dawn was there...yeah. Akeys always pays back. I love that about her. But Imma need her to stay away from the fried chicken for a month.

    3. Chris Brown decided he would leave most of the dancing to usher and neyo. His performance was saved when Ciara (aka the black angelina jolie aka the princess) came out and shut that sh*t down. Now that's dancing in heels. That's a bad b*tch, sans noone. She cannot be efed with, sorry Jan. This ish was soooooo sexy smooth and technical. Chris could have done this whole song and left out the first song. And why did they cut to Ri? Ri is probably more interested in Ciara than she is Chris. But I'm sure the blogs will make something out of nothing.

    4. Wayne was definitely the crowd pleaser. He's the one the negroes are in love with for the moment. All hate aside he shut it down. His energy is incredible. And when my song 'a millie' came on, call me beyonce cause i was on the floor having seizures.

    5. Neyo totally surprised me. I was entertained, he sang live and and his dancing was descent. But the real highlight was when the jabawakeez (sp) came out in the end. That was fiyah.

    6. As for Usher, I enjoyed the choreography. However, he lipsang and where was Beyonce? I was expecting from he and Bey what CB and Ci gave us...oh well i guess bey opted to go to popeyes instead, lol. As a result it was a bit of a dissapointment but still very sexy and entertaining.

    7. TPain circus act. It was entertaining for what it was.

    8. Jeezy was bombing until Kanye revived him. Kanye brought the passion needed for that song. Considering the dull audience.
    _______

    9. Rihanna I love you but this ain't the mtv awards...You got to bring it. You should have done 'don't stop the music.' Step your stage presence up ma. People were on the phone while you were performing. Outfit was hot as would be expected though. And she looks like Prince..or Jaimie Lee Curtis

    10. Keisha you got to step yo game up. This is not the apollo. WTF was that? I see you're trying o move more but somethings are better left to professionals. I was not amused by the first of second performance and the dancing was not in sync as you kept looking behind you to see where the dancers were in their movement. And don't get me started on Kim. Total disaster.

11.Nelly relied on Ci and Ferg for most of his performance. And what was Ashanti doing in the introduction? Kind of a desperate moment. At the end of the day his set was too over the top and didn't give enough time to the girls to save it. Plus the songs were not that popular. My girl Ci did her thang though. So did Ferg... nelly w/o his shirt was a pleasure though
