THE AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS: THE REVIEW
In all I thought there were too many unnecessary performances last night. If you are not nominated your ass shouldn't be performing.
PERFORMANCES THAT STOOD OUT (GOOD BAD OR INDIFFERENT)
Janet danced a lot. I'm missing something from her. I realize its incredible to do all that in your 40s and she hasn't lost a step. Also she looked beautiful doing it, I was just missing something from that performance. And the fake eyelashes didn't help.
Shakira was entertaining. Unfortunately for her Beyonce has swagga jacked her whole swag so now I'm kind of sick of it. She tried to spice it up with the whole stepping thing I guess, but there was no wow factor about this either
[VIDEO TO COME...]
- Kelly Clarkson has completely lost her zest as of late. Don't get me wrong, the bish can hit a note but she is totally letting herself go. I always say if singing was the only appeal you needed to be a superstar worthy of my eyes watching on national tv, 99% of what we will see is unattractive sloppiness...and 60% will bore us to death.
Jay z and Alicia Keys did their thing. I didn't get that same feel as I did when they performed it for the first time at the MTV awards but they got through it.
- Black Eyed Peas did okay. Fergie was Fergie, and for me the main attraction. Sure she was pitchy at times but bare in mind she doesn't use that echo thing that most of these chicks use nowadays. In all, they were entertaining.
Rihanna proved once again why she has trumped Beyonce as the most overrated woman in show business. However Bey does have some musical talent. Rihanna is the epitome of mediocrity, and I can no longer stand by and watch. She sounds like a billygoat, she has the swagga and rhythm of a corpse, and she has no stage precense whatsoever. And the bish was lipping 90% of the horrible vocals. That beatdown can only give you press for so long.... Jay Z's dizzle and your stylist can only do so much. Step ya fukin game up ya wack bish.
Lady Gaga shitted all over that stage and that wasn't even her best performance. However because of the subpar efforts of the majority before her she came off looking like the only professional.
Mary J Blidge was boring as hell and completely unnecessary in this line up
Jennifer Lopez came out swinging and overall she shitted, coming second only to Gaga. The 40 year old had swag, she can dance not just coochie pop, and she wasn't even wearing panties.....Then she jumped...landing on her inflated arse....and bounced up like it was a beach ball onto her feet...Complete professional. Bish still shitted, fall and all.
Whitney Houston's performance was emotional but her vocals are a far cry from her hay day. It makes me mad actually but it's Whitney. We're just glad she's off the pipe.
Alicia Keys "Try Sleeping With A
Eminem joined by 50 was actually good. It wasn't until the last year or so that I finally go the hype about him.
That fool from American Idol thinks he's the male Lady Gaga. That was the lamest attempt at getting attention I've every seen in an award show.
- Carrie Underwood was everything Rihanna was suppose to be. Still the best country singer performer in the game.
- We mentioned Jlo's fall, that was epic. And then she had to go into a solo after...that was crazy
- Jay Z's 'men lie women lie #s don't' line was funny and I suppose a shot at 50. 50 deserves it cause he's seriously has been out of pocket with respect to Jay Z for a minute now and on the heels of rumors that his album sales are horrible Jay Z went for it. However 50's 4 albums still outsells Jay Z's 10 albums so I don't know how far Jay wants to take that. Not to mention, Eminem outsold him this musical year yet he's getting awards. So I say "payola (aka pay offs) are the only thing that doesn't lie."
- Did yall see Jay Z stiff arm to trophy lady that tried to kiss him on the cheeck? I guess groupies get no love. That was wierd. Anyway he did kiss Toni Braxton so atleast we know he wasn't in a foul mood.
- I was on twitter while watching to show and saw that as soon as Jay Z finished his speech, Chris Brown twitted "cornball." When someone called him out he said he was talking about somebody who was freestyling in his house. Uhm, LMFAO. Poor kid started backtracking worse than rihanna's hairline. Don't be scared of speaking the truth. We all know the only reason Jay Z is relevant is because of Beyonce.
- And the twitter folk were up in arms about Taylor Swift beating out MJ for an award and going apeshiz/kanye on the chick. I say she outsold all of your and my favorite this year and last. Don't be mad at her. THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE.
- And 0 awards for Lady Gaga, thanks to the dream crusher Taylor Swift.

RIHANNA GETS GLAMOUR WOMAN OF THE YEAR
Since she hasn't been on the charts in the past year, Rihanna was honored (I'm assuming) as one of Glamour's women of the year for her brave step in becoming the face of domestic violence.

THE VMAs...A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
MOMENTS TO TALK ABOUT
It's one thing to have an opinion and another to be an ass. We all question award show winners every year and I'm sure celebs do as well. But to go up on stage take the mic and do that truly demonstrates the kind of person you are. And bad things happen to bad people is all Imma say.
Beyonce made sure to get out of dodge and not take the Kanye rant heat by giving up her time to Taylor. Or as I would put it, accepting MTV's demand that she give up her time to Taylor. lol. I got teary though. That was a classy move. And she appears to be beautiful inside and out. Good things happen to good people. Once the moment passed, I was left thinking what kind of underwear those Bey have on? Her behind look like a volleyball...no homo
What was Jlo saying to Eminem when she gave him his award. She was yelling something. It looked like she was saying M'Fer you better not say anything about me while up on that stage.
HOT PERFORMANCES
The MJ Tribute. Brilliant sans the one dancer messing up the smooth criminal lean. Janet did her thing. Look at Beyonce and Jlo cheering like lil school girls, I love it. People question the lipsinging, trust me your favorite does it too. Just because she doesn't hold a mic in her hand shouldn't take anything away. I didn't like Janet's outfit. She looked like she had no neck. Other than that she gave energy and it was hot.
Say what you want this bish SLAYED. She gave you phantom..theater..choreo (shout out to Laurean).."performance art." People talk about being so disturbed by the blood yet they watch vampire movies and are fine. Give me a break. The bish gives me Madonna, Grace Jones, Prince, Janet all in one and adds herself. Plus she doesn't give the same performance...she always gives you a different look. And her performance told the story obviously the blood wasn't just for no reason. It was about a girl wanting fame and killing herself because of it. DUH. People need to learn how performance can be art and not just a visual of a person singing and/or dancing. Pure BRILLIANCE.
Beyonce turned it up by doing what she does best and adding more dancers to the party. Kat popping, hair slinging, floor scrubbing, and the single ladies routine in excess. How can you not be entertained. Respect the hustle pimpin.
Pink did her thing last night. Absolutely love this song and what a unique way to present it. By the way this is live singing on the freaking trampeze. Another use of the performance as a metaphor. AND WHAT. She is very underrated in my opinion. From Rnb to Pop to Rock to Dance she does it all effortlessly.
Surprisingly, my fav performance of the night. Jay Z turned up the swag and Akeys just melted my soul. It was so moving. It gave me a since of pride. I can't say enough about how this epitomizes the brilliance of a fitting callabo and the song is just perfect. You can tell Jay loved it as well because he seldom gives this kind of energy in a award show performance...see him dance with Akeys...see Beyonce reppin her man...see that NY swag by the duo..see that build up in the last verse...see Gaga groving in her bird nest...loves it. We are so ready for Akeys and a new album. The girl is so gutta....Enters Lil Mama = WTF, EPIC FAIL.

BET AWARDS...
Honarable Outfit Mention
Need to Rethink that Outfit
Worst Dressed
WTF Moments
Let start with the embarrassment that was this interview. Is this just an media op for this guy
-I'm hearing Chris was banned from the show at the last minute because of Jay Z? WTF. Didn't TI perform after being arrested for the whole gun possession thing? And don't get me started on Wayne and all the other criminals, Jay Z included (stabbing a man) who took the stage. The negroes and their Jayz worshiping has gone to another level. As if this nikka got any real clout outside of NY. Give me a break
-Neyo and Jamie performing every 5 minutes was not the biz. Neyo is no Michael. Nor is anyone else and he has the best matched voice but there are other celebs. Trey could have done something. Even Tevin Campbell and other high pitched vocal acts.
-Why did I hear Ciara cried like a little baby back stage making everyone stop and stare. You would think she was a member of the family.
Award Winners
All I can say is, Day 26 won for best group. Need I say more as to the nonsense that that was?
The MJ Tributes
New Edition with Bobby included with an MJ medley.
Neyo "Lady in My Life"
Ciara "Heel the World"
Janet's Words
Jaimie and Neyo "I'll Be There"
IN CONCLUSION
It ended on a very somber note. We were all hoping for a dance tribute so that it can be a celebration. But I suppose you can't go from Janet's speech to dancing. In all not BET's best award show, infact probable it's worst but they pulled it together in 2 days and it was MJ.
